Problems and Solutions
Our country has major problems that we need to deal with. Many of these problems we have been struggling with for decades, if not centuries. If we want to build a better society, we need to finally, and fully, address these issues. When using a traditional political (i.e. government) approach to solving these problems, we find too many compromises and political power-plays get in the way of actually resolving the issue. By taking government out of the picture and looking at our problems from a viewpoint of "How do we solve these issues?" vice "How do I use these issues to grow my power?", we are able to come up with very unique solutions that most Americans can get behind, regardless of their political leanings. THESE SOLUTIONS ARE NOT COMPROMISES. They don't come from a Right vs. Left or Conservative vs. Liberal mentality. We are 100% committed to our principles. However, we want to SOLVE these issues, not just promote a political ideology. While they have components that both conservatives and liberals will appreciate, it does not mean that they are compromised solutions. We just decided to look at the differently and from the only perspective of RESOLVING THE PROBLEM. If they happen to make both sides happy, so be it. That only means that we found a great solution. As you study our solutions, you will see that there are no compromises, no backsliding, nor any concessions. They are just good solutions.
RIGHT TO LIFE
The most basic right for an individual is the RIGHT TO LIFE. The taking of a life must only be done through the Due Process of the Law. The UAP stands firmly on eliminating all government funding for abortion facilities and practices. This is where political accountability comes into play. For every UAP politician, there will be strict adherence to protecting the sanctity of life.
We will introduce legislation that protects all life from conception until natural death. We will introduce solutions for improved end-of-life health standards to eliminate the suffering of the terminally ill, and a focus on medical research to cure these terrible afflictions. Our politicians must take a firm and unwavering stance on Right To Life issues.
We acknowledge that we continue to live in a race-separated society. Martin Luther King’s vision of ALL people living together regardless of skin pigmentation and having the same opportunities has not been achieved. Black and Latino communities are suffering from substandard housing, horrible living conditions, and high crime rates. No wonder that drug and alcohol abuse run rampant in these communities. The solution, however, is not government. Government, in fact, created and continues to proliferate these conditions. The great society programs have turned into the great calamity programs for these neighborhoods. We stand against any government program that favors one race or culture over another. Our government must truly be color blind when it comes to making laws.
We propose a three-step process for ending this problem:
1. Ending ineffective and inefficient government-controlled welfare programs that produce substandard housing, malnourished children, and high crime rates. Instead, these services will be provided by non-government organizations (NGO’s) who must prove that they have effective and efficient programs. Society, not government, will choose those organizations and programs that will be funded. Those that are effective will get the necessary funding to ensure that we solve these issues, vice just fund them.
2. Redirecting law enforcement to focus on safety and felony crimes instead of revenue generation activities like traffic citations and business infractions. Improve training, instill accountability, and provide necessary resources to our local law enforcement organizations will ensure safe and healthy neighborhoods.
3. Providing resources and incentives to strengthen families in these communities. Among other things, the current government programs destroy family units by design, and by doing so, have created a culture of conditions that lead to high crimes rates, joblessness, poverty, and drug abuse.
Unmanageable brueaucracies and institutionalization have created an immigration nightmare for those that wish to legally immigrate to the United States. Meanwhile, illegal immigration across our borders create a threat to our safety, our society, and our institutions. The United America Party is absolutely committed to secure borders. Every person migrating to the United States must be someone that will contribute to our society and make it better. Having said that, however, we understand that many good people and worthy people wish to participate in our freedoms and prosperity. We should be welcoming to those that want to improve our lives while improving their own.
The solution for our problem with illegal immigration can be resolved by implementing three distinct, but interrelated, solutions:
1. Protect our borders, not just with walls and other ineffective means, but with a strong force that is dedicated to ensuring that dangerous and criminal operatives do not get into our country. While walls and other barriers can help, the only way to truly stop drugs, terrorists, and criminals from illegally entering our country is with a large force that continually monitors, patrols, and enforces the sovereignty of our borders.
2. At the same time, a complete overhaul of our legal immigration system is needed to ensure that proper and hardworking immigrants can come to America and become a part of the multicultural makeup of America. Allowing for seasonal workers, eliminating social benefits as incentives for non-working immigrants to come to our country, and reducing the time it takes to legally migrate to the U.S. will all contribute to a safe, secure border and opportunities for all.
3. A better foreign policy, especially with our Latin America neighbors, to help alleviate the causes that drive their citizens to want to leave their native lands. We must be sympathetic to the conditions that these individuals are living in and strive to create livable and sustainable conditions in their home countries.
Does 1% of the population control all the wealth? Are large corporations, banks, and billionaires getting better benefits than the rest of us? Does our economy fail to address issues like poverty and homelessness? The answer is “yes” to all those questions. However, you would be wrong to blame them on capitalism. They exist because we have a socialist government and a socialist economy. When government controls the economy, then the wealthy will control the government.
Take government out from controlling our society and the wealthy have no power over the rest of us. True capitalism is what will provide the best outcomes, the most prosperity for all, and address the inequalities of wealth.
CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENVIRONMENTALISM
The United America Party is firmly committed to having a clean and healthy environment for our world. Having said that, the UAP is also strongly opposed to current United Nations and other agendas regarding Climate Change. They neither properly address the reasons for climate change nor do they uniformally and effectively remove the causes of pollution. If we want to come to a realistic (vice an agenda based) solution, then we need to get reliable, unbiased, and indisputable data that provides us with real information and we need to apply our solutions globally and equally. We also are committed to using technology and innovation to solve our issues vice restrictive and tyrannical government edicts.
First - we must have unbiased and empirical research done on the true causes and impact of climate change. When researchers are funded to find predetermined conclusions, we get biased information. We need to go back to the scientific method of following the facts, whether they support the agenda or not. Stopping government funding of climate change research will be the first step in allowing for an unbiased and fact-based assessment of environmental impacts on our globe. Environmentalists should be supporting this approach. If we have unbiased and indisputable information that supports their claims, then they will be proven right. Using compromised and manipulated data only demonstrates that the truth does not support their claims and they are trying to conceal it.
Second - the whole world needs to be on the same plan. You cannot have economic devastating rules in one country and allow other countries to dump millions of tons of pollutants into our environment. If the goal is to reduce pollution, then it must be applied everywhere, all the time. Additionally, current environmental edicts are not being equally enforced. There are no repercussions for those developed countries (China) that choose to ignore these edicts, yet political pressure is being applied to America and Europe to adopt them. Apply them equally, enforce them equally, and then we can talk about reducing pollutants.
Third - Why are government edicts the only solutions being promoted? What about improving technologies? What about developing new manufacturing processes? What about providing incentives for reducing pollutants? Considering the enormous costs that government edicts have cost our economy, the same funds being applied to research and development would have probably produced technologies, products, and processes that would have actually worked in reducing pollution in both developed and under developed countries.
First, we must start with the premise that no one should suffer pain or death because they could not afford the necessary medical care. Second, we must recognize that access to good healthcare is a basic standard for any society. The issue is that government is the worst provider of healthcare. It does not improve the healthcare for the needy, it diminishes healthcare for all of us. The United America Party stand firmly against any government healthcare program.
To truly provide quality healthcare for all, we need to resolve unnecessary legal issues that raise the cost of medical care, change medical practices from a lawsuit-driven program to a wellness program, and remove unnecessary government obstacles that hinder the introduction to drugs, procedures, and devices that can improve our health. Then we seek private sector organizations and solutions for providing quality healthcare to the poor and needy. Overall, however, is that we need to find solutions within the medical/social communities, not government (see our first guiding principle).
FOREIGN POLICY AND WARS
Cold War doctrine and global domination policies do not help our citizens nor the world. Undeclared wars and armed conflicts are killing our youth in wasted conflicts. At the same time, we must recognize that our country has dangerous enemies that are dedicated to destroying us and our way of life. The UN is both ineffective and counterproductive to a world that seeks to be free. The United America Party does not support an isolationist policy nor does the party promote a "one world" government approach. Instead, we support a policy that promotes sovereignty for all countries and use cultural collaboration, diplomacy, and effective trade arrangements to create a safer and more peaceful world. We must realise that we only have one world to live on and that we are all connected. The UAP strongly believes that a world where all citizens are free and whose rights are protected is the only way to acheive world peace.
We shall immediately withdraw from the United Nations. However, we cannot take an isolationist policy. We live in a world that requires international connectivity and we need to be a part of that world. Not as the policeman, not as the rich uncle, and not as the bully. Instead, we need to develop strong relationships with those countries that promote liberty and stand against those countries that brutalize their citizens and restrict human rights. Those that do not respect the rights of human beings should be isolated from the rest of the world, both economically and diplomatically.
Our armed forces need to be the most formidable in the world. Our enemies must have no doubts that any attack on the US will result in the destruction of their government. Those that are dedicated to our destruction will be denied any resources or trade with our country.
Our global agenda will be based on our constitution: respecting state independence and having their own culture/society that fits them but promoting liberty and human rights. Those that share our values will be welcomed friends and have access to our prosperity. Those that don’t will be denied access to all of our resources and those of our allies.
From our elementary schools to our universities, our education system is horribly broken. They have become indoctrination centers for the socialist agenda rather than institutions of learning and critical thinking. The recent effort by universities to stifle free speech that does not agree with their agenda is both inexcusable and unamerican. Schools and Universities keep requiring more and more spending, even though education standards continue to fall.
True Capitalism is based on the concept that competition produces the best results. Government kills competition, so we support a transition of our education institutions to the private sector and promotion of providing a climate of learning, exploring, and free thinking for our children that will generate the largest leap in technology and prosperity that the world has ever seen. We also believe that education needs to have a “Workforce Ready” focus where young adults are ready to enter into high tech, trades, and other non-college fields that offer superior incomes without a degree.
DRUGS, CRIME, AND LAW ENFORCEMENT
The War on Drugs has been a miserable and very expensive failure. Some communities in the U.S. look more like war zones than American neighborhoods. On the other hand, law enforcement policies, such as property confiscation and unwarranted searches, are becoming commonplace. The United America Party stands for effective law enforcement in our communities. One of the few legitimate roles that government actually has is in protecting the citizens from criminals and harm. Contrasting this, however, is the overriding necessity to protect their rights and liberties. The United America Party does not feel that these two goals are mutually exclusive. You can have an effective police force and still protect the rights and freedoms of the citizens.
As addressed on our solution for racial issues, we need to take a holistic approach to crime. Knowing that a certain amount of people are dedicated to criminal activities, we need to have a proper law enforcement response to dissuade or punish criminal acts. Removing environmental factors that takes normal kids and turns them into hardened criminals must be a focus for us. A refocusing of our law enforcement activities is also required. Additionally, we need to look at our justice system and seek solutions that provide for long term and sustainable crime prevention.
However, law enforcement cannot be so large that we become a police state in the name of safety. Therefore, we support and promote the 2nd amendment as a remedy for crime prevention. Law abiding citizens being able to protect themselves and their property is the strongest deterrent to criminal behavior.
Our guiding principles state that government is both ineffective and inefficient. As such, the more money it has, the more money that is wasted and abused. Limited Government is a United America Party foundational principle. Every UAP politician must be committed to (and will be held accountable for) reducing the size of government institutions at all levels.
We start with an uncompromising stance of stopping any debt spending. Government cannot spend more than the revenues that they receive and must find ways to reduce spending by increasing efficiency of government projects, diverting government projects to the private sector, or just ending them if they are not a direct function of government as outlined in federal and state constitutions.
PROPERTY RIGHTS AND TAXATION
The foundation of our country was based on personal ownership of property and the free exercise of using our own assets and property to improve our lives. Property is more than just your home. It includes any possessions you own and even the money that you make.
We promote property rights by our non-compromising dedication to reducing government spending. Besides debt reduction, we also need to safely, prudently, and wisely transition government spending on social and non-government projects to the private sector.
Then we will start judiciously and carefully removing the federal reserve and return our banking system back to the private sector. This will be a major step to restoring a constitutional/capitalist-based economy.
Additionally, by removing the IRS, income tax, and other unneeded tax generating activities, we will give our citizens back their most prized property - money.
Along with this, we will enforce property rights for our citizens that protect them from unwarranted intrusion by government officials on their own property.
TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Our current transportation system is based purely on the goals and policies of hardcore environmentalists. The main function, however, of our transportation systems are to help Americans get from one place to another in the safest, quickest, and easiest way possible.
Mass Transit has only generated empty buses driving in circles around our cities, trains and subways that pose risk of health and life to use, and inconvenient programs that cost millions but services very few.
We can have the same goals of environmentalists but for different reasons and to provide better solutions. For instance, having less cars on our highways helps with faster commute times in our major cities. However, only providing an ineffective (and even dangerous) mass transit option will not work. Private sector emerging technologies can provide alternative solutions that make sense for us. If we can get to our destinations faster, safer, and with less impact on the environment, then it becomes a win-win for all.
We cannot allow environmentalists to have a monopoly on solving our transportation and infrastructure issues. Agenda 21 (and currently Agenda 2031) initiatives and programs do not help our communities but restrict rights and freedoms.
